LEEBIN SOYEON posits that the complex dynamics of one’s desires and ambitions are constantly at play in the minutiae of everyday life. She explores these forces by constructing exaggerated, sometimes absurd political narratives.
Her narratives oscillate between real talk and joke, documentary and mockumentary, constantly switching and overlapping reality and fiction.
Rather than representing women who embody stable mentalities and virtuous solidarity, she focuses on those who fall out—those who refuse it, question it, or deliberately disrupt it.
She portrays their collisions as chaotic episodes in a distorted political drama. Leebinsoyeon investigates this drama as one would a criminal case: by fabricating, manipulating, and reconstructing its events.
